Call of Duty

i know many people, or teenagers, who play call of duty, and im shocked on how transformed people become while playing their game. yelling at television screens and becoming enraged, going on a killing rampage. it is pretty terrifying. i dont think it would be the worst thing in the world if the video game became discontinued. it not only promotes violence, but war. there was a commercial prommoting violent videogames i saw the other day that stated "creating Killers." this spoke to me in the most negative, and yet powerful way. it was true that the videogames are now creating killers, and im fairly certain that many who do play those types of video games have had some pretty terrible moments by acting out of rage. to also put in perspective, it can depend on the person that is playing these games. if it is someone who can control themself better than most, it may be an acception, but for most they get sucked in and cant get out of a war state of mind. call of duty is probably one of the most popular video games out there, and it mostly targets the men. although this is a made-up game, can people take this to a level unimaginable? like actually goin to the store, purchasong a gun and killing someone with it? or is this game simply just a jult of adrenalin for the time being? i could not tell you, since o have never played the game myself, but for those who have a fedish for viollence already, this type of amusement may feed into the problem. Plus age plays a very big role in this. the younger they start out playing violent games, the more likely they'll turn out to be a violent person.

The Letters

i read a couple of letters from the army that were sent to and from where soldiers were stationed, and its strange to think that this was the way they could come in contact with their family. a soldier wrote to a relative named Margie and explained in the letter of how he had a system of reading the letters he had recieved from this person. he also talks about how he was stationed in africa. how frustrating it must be to tell news through letters. to not hear the other persons voice and having to wait for a response, god knows when! but a pen and piece of paper was the communication they lived by. for many, it seems like it was what kept them going through the whole war.

Dog-fighting

Fighting in the air is something very different and new for war. although it was just brought up in fighting, it became very effective in battle. in a plane ready to take down the enemy, a pilot only felt trigger happy. they are to take down the opposing player and dominate. "How am I to take down this plane? I have but a handgun as a weapon." to learn how to shoot from a gun and fly a plane at the same time is quite skillful in mind. im sure the pilots have about 1000 thoughts running through there head every second. "where should i aim?" "Is the plane in good positiion?" "Where are my targets?" The bravest men and most ecquipped seem to be the only ones to handle this job.

Journal Entry

Dear Journal,
today 4 more men have died from bulding the canal from a timing issue with the dynomite. they were all West Indians. something i have never understaood is as the job progresses in time, im less effected by deaths that occur on a weekly bases.. sometimes a daily bases. i guess it just makes it easier to get through this dirty job. the rail accdients that have occurred are brutal. a man lost both his legs from getting caught under the train. he may have another week to live. im as cold as stone now. It kind of feels like a war between man and canal. i shall write more for another night.

By enabling Haiti with Obamas plan to fix up the destroyed and distorted homes and ciities, it forces America to take control, creating an economical imperialistic plan. CLinton and Bush have been put incharge of this task, and has been successful for Haiti but im sure the control just tickles them pink.

Yellow Journalism

yellow journalism has always been a major way to spread news during the early 1900's, but even today it is being used, such as the swine flew fiasco. it was a major exaggeration of how deadly this new sickness was. in all approximately 600 people died and a little over 44,000 people had recieved it. The yellow journalism was used in World War I in order to get the United states involved. when the USS Maine 'sank' it struck the U.S. into action. the articles are only for creating drama and making quarrels begin.

Bourgeoise & The Chocolate Factory

the rich, the middle class and the poor. This seems to be the case when it comes to society. there seems to be a pattern with these levels of class, as shown in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. bourgeoise is a system for the people of towns, cities, countries etc. such as the system of king/queen, prince/princess, duke/dutchess, lord/lady proclaims how one may betterment in civilization. CHarlie and the Chocolate Factory shows the degression in the classes with the rich, the the m,middle clss, and the poor. the protagonist, turns a corner from rags to riches at the end of the tale, which is ironic, being the fact that normally when it comes to bourgeoise classes do not change.
