Casablanca

there are certains parts in this film that were more significant than others. these were the ones i felt should be mentioned: when Ugarte comes to Rick's Cafe he asks Rick Blaine to hold onto the letters of transit for him. this is how Rick not inly claims an amount of power, but he also emmits a drama he never was meaning to cause. in the movie it shows that Rick had an old flame, Ilsa Lund, after she shows up in his Cafe with her husband, Victor Laszlo. this shows Ricks reason for being so bitter in the movie and as the movie goes on, it unfolds the history of lives in the movie. There is also a scene that concludes the love Rick truly has for Ilsa. 'Maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow, but soon and then for the rest of your life.' this quote is a farewell to the woman he loved so she could have a better life. these scenes sculpted the movie into the romantic drama it is.
